Small Cabriole Style Leg Pattern for Shaker Table Turned Pedestal

If needed, use the following detailed instructions for drawing a pattern for the small Cabriole Style Leg/foot for the Shaker Table pedestal (or any pedestal for a similar table).

Straight Lines:
Using your 1" grid drawing paper, draw a vertical line
3 3/4" long. The bottom of this line should be on a grid line. At the top of the line, draw a 1/2" horizontal line. At the bottom, draw a 1 1/2" horizontal line. Then, from the bottom of the vertical line, come down 4 1/4" and over 7 1/2". Beginning at the 7 1/2" point, draw a horizontal line 2 3/4" to the right. At the left end of this line, draw a 1/8" vertical line up.

Top of Cabriole Leg and Foot:
You are going to use dots to outline the foot. Turn your grid paper so that the 1 1/2" line is vertical. This is going to be your base line. Draw a light pencil line along this graph line to identify your base as you place your dots. Off to the side, mark your ten 1" horizontal grid lines. The first set of dots will form the top of the leg and foot.Working toward the right from the 1 1/2" vertical line,
(1) put a dot at 3 1/8" on the first grid line;
(2) put a dot at 2 7/8" at the 1 1/2" grid point;
(3) put a dot at 2 3/4" on the third grid line;
(4) put a dot at 2 1/8" on the fourth grid line;
(5) and put a dot at 1/2" on the fifth grid line.
Now, working to the left from the base of the 1 1/2" vertical line,
(6) put a dot at 1 1/8" on the 5 1/2" grid point;
(7) put a dot 2 1/16" on the sixth grid line;
(8) put a dot 2 13/16" on the seventh grid line;
(9) put a dot at 2 15/16" on the eighth grid line;
(10) put a dot at 3" on the ninth grid line;
(11) put a dot at 3 1/8" at the 9 1/2" grid point;
(12) and put a dot at 3 11/16" on the tenth grid line.
Now, (by using the link below) look at the picture and, duplicating the curvature as best you can, connect these dots to the right end
of your 2 3/4" horizontal line.

Bottom of Cabriole Leg and Foot:
These dots will form the bottom of the leg and foot. Using the 1 1/2" vertical line as your base, working toward the right,
(13) put a dot at 5/8" on the second 1" grid line;
(14) put a dot at 5/8" on the 2 1/2" grid point;
(15) and put a dot at 3/16" on the third grid line.
Working toward the left,
(16) put a dot at 1 3/4" on the fourth grid line;
(17) put a dot at 3 1/8" on the fifth grid line;
(18) put a dot at 3 13/16" on the sixth grid line;
(19) and put a dot at 4 1/8" on the seventh grid line.
Again, look at the picture and connect the dots to the left end of your2 3/4" horizontal line, duplicating the curvature as best you can.
