This project is designed to be at the
Intermediate Skill Level.
Picture #1

The box measures 12"x8"x8"
The first thing you have to do after
you have cut out your pieces for the box
is to glue them together and put them in
clamps until the glue has dried
(as you see in Pictures #1 and #2).
Do not cut the bottom for the box at this time.
(The extra piece of wood lying on the box
is what I will use to make the drawer head.)
Picture #2

In Pictures #3 and #4 you can see that I
rabbetted the top
(see drawing beneath Picture #3)
and mitered the joints
so that it will be smooth.

Picture #4

Picture #5 shows you what your box will look like.
Picture #5

Once the glue has dried and you have taken
the clamps off of the box, you will start
preparing the box for the drawer.
The first thing you will have to do is
saw out part of the box in order to
put the drawer in the bottom.
You can see this beginning in Picture #6.
Picture #6

Cut out your drawer head and measure it
to the table saw as I am doing in Picture #6.
To get the depth, set the fence so that you
cut off just enough of the box so that you
can put in the drawer (Picture #7).
Picture #7

Pictures 8 and 9 show making the cuts.

Picture #9

Picture #10 shows the saw actually cutting out for the drawer head.
